Le Centre d'emploi francophone de Durham (CEFD) est un pôle d’emploi francophone qui favorise l'intégration professionnelle des francophones de la région de Durham.

The COFRD offers services to newcomers in needs’ assessment and referral, information and orientation, community connections through the Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS) program, support services, group activities, and workshops.

Come listen to nature stories and songs! A portion of this storytimes involves going outside into the reading garden or taking a walk to the park outside the library. Please dress for the weather.

Come and learn about the life cycle of monarch butterflies, the importance of butterflies in the environment and how to save them. Participants will have an opportunity to observe live monarch eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises and butterflies.

Perfect for little ones who love bounces and tickles! This storytime features books, songs and action rhymes for little ones!

This program will be a play-based program, focusing on essential skills children need to enter Kindergarten. Key areas will include: fine motor, self-regulation and well-being, cognitive development, and socialization.

Hello, Seaton! Join library staff every Wednesday morning for engaging activities and information about our library services. Interested in obtaining a library card? Curious about our digital library and how it works?

This storytime takes place in a quiet and safe environment. It includes interactive stories, songs, action-rhymes, fingerplays and sensory activities which promote literacy skills and development.

The library will be hosting a unique event catering to families with children who identify as being neurodivergent to come and experience the library prior to regular operating hours.

The Durham Community Health Centre team will be on site at the Central Library, hosting a resource table focusing on hepatitis c and harm reduction overdose protection.

This program will introduce infants to interactive songs, nursery rhymes, music, creative movement and musical instruments.

Meet up with fellow makers every Thursday! Bring your own projects, share ideas, and socialize. 

An Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) Caseworker from the Oshawa office will be onsite every Friday at the Central Library to assist you, and no appointment is necessary.

Come and have some fun and meet other kids in this literacy focused program as we go "beyond the book." Each week there will be a different book challenge.

July 8 - Writing - Make up a goofy story or poem. Draw a cover to a book.

Boost your child's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) skills with Ontario Tech University's Engineering Outreach Team!

Learn about constellations and make your own constellation art piece! Supplies will be provided.

Join us in-person as we play with LEGO. Let your creativity be your guide! Supplies will be provided.

Come spend an afternoon at the movies...at the library! We will be watching Migration. Snacks will be provided.

Games, Music, and Snacks. Every week, every time. A Youth Outreach Worker from Durham Community Health Centre will be on site. Resources included. All welcome.

This is a program for teens (ages 13-19).
