Event Details
Join a dance workshop to explore the traditions of the Métis jig and powwow dances. In this workshop, children will learn some of the lively steps and movements that are part of these important cultural dances. They will listen to the music, learn about the traditional instruments that create the rhythm, and discover the meaning behind the traditional clothing and accessories worn by dancers. This is a great opportunity to celebrate Indigenous Heritage Month, learn about Indigenous cultures, and honour the traditions and stories that are shared through dance and music. We will also be making leather bracelets that your child will get to bring home.
