Did you know that bees, butterflies, and other tiny pollinators help flowers, fruits, and vegetables grow? Join the experts from the Durham Master Gardeners for a fun and interactive introduction to gardening for kids! Discover how to create a garden that attracts helpful pollinators like buzzing bees and beautiful butterflies. Participants will learn which flowers they love, why pollinators are so important, and how you can help them thrive right in your own backyard. 

Biography

Rabia is a Master Gardener in training with DMG's Children's Outreach Committee. She graduated from Guelph in 2022 with the Diploma in Horticultural Studies and is currently completing a certificate in Sustainable Urban Agriculture. She has taken a course in gardening with Special Populations with Toronto Botanical Gardens, and is a certified steward with Pollinator Partnership. She currently volunteers with the Canadian Horticultural Therapy Association within their Communication committee.
