This workshop introduces participants to the growing issue of textile waste and provides practical, community-driven solutions through responsible consumption, repair culture, and circular practices. The session includes an interactive presentation and a small clothing swap to encourage reuse within the community.
Theertha Bakam is an environmental engineer, as well as the founder of RenWeSort, a Canadian-based initiative focused on reducing textile waste through education and sorting solutions. Her work centres on delivering educational awareness sessions and advancing research on textile waste management, with a particular emphasis on sorting as a critical step toward circular and sustainable textile systems."
