Come together for a panel discussion for LGBT History Month and Coming Out Day on the importance of personal discovery, identity, and the power of community. Our 3 panelists will speak about their personal experiences, offer advice on resources for supporting a loved one, and finding community for yourself.

Bios:

Zhané (she/they) is a dynamic creator and advocate dedicated to fostering inclusive and empowering spaces for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. With a deep commitment to intersectionality, Zhané's work spans across various mediums, from organizing community events like queer pottery nights and community dinners to creating educational and entertaining content on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. Their focus is on blending entertainment with education, particularly around queer identity, lifestyle, and financial literacy. With a background in youth community work and programming, she has brought their lived experiences to create change. In their free time, they love gaming, working out and eating good food!

 

Sean McCallum-Sadeghi (he/him) is a proud queer man of mixed heritage. Born in Canada to immigrant parents, Sean currently works in Toronto’s finance sector. Having navigated his own intersectional journey with identity, he is passionate about creating spaces where people can feel safe to be themselves. You will often find Sean involved in various local initiatives and communities around the GTA, with a focus on the arts and queer or BIPOC youth.

 

Angeni Lovelady (they/them) is a Niizh-Manidoowag (Two-Spirit) person of mixed ancestry (Algonquin Aniishinaabeg and Scottish/English). Much of their work has centered around education and Indigenous student support, with a focus on creating supportive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ and Two-Spirited Indigenous peoples. Outside of this work, Angeni is a poet, gamer, musician, and activist, and enjoys spending time by the Otonabee River.
