Event Details

Do you have a story to tell about a special animal in your life? Do you have a rescued dog, cat, chinchilla or friendly neighbourhood squirrel that you want to share with the world? Pickering Public Library and Pickering Animal Services want you to create your very own short storybook about your special animal friend. Please do not submit pictures of your story for quality purposes. Contest closes Monday, July 22 at 5:00pm.

Guidelines for submission: 

  • Each page should be 8.5 x 11
  • Cover (Title/Written by...you!)
  • Stories must be 14-20 pages long (Can be pictures, drawings, cartoons - be creative!)
  • Write a dedication (to my cat Frank/For my dog Shadow)
  • Artist Bio/Self Portrait (write a line about yourself - draw a picture of yourself and your pet)

  • Images must have no watermarks

    Please email stories in a PDF file once completed to kids@pickeringlibrary.ca
