Celebrate Islamic Heritage Month with a special Q&A featuring Sadiya Ansari, author of the novel In Exile: Rupture, Reunion, and My Grandmother's Secret Life. Join us for an evening of insightful discussion as Ansari explores themes of identity, displacement, and resilience in her debut work. Discover the inspiration behind her story and engage in a lively conversation about the cultural and personal influences that shape her writing.

About the author:
Sadiya Ansari is a Pakistani Canadian journalist based in London, and is currently the LGBTQ+ commissioning editor for Africa and Asia at the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Her work has appeared in the Guardian, VICE, Refinery29, Maclean’s, The Walrus, and the Globe and Mail, among others. She has reported from Pakistan, Indonesia, Germany, Spain, Poland and Kenya, among other places. Her work has changed legislation and won awards. She is co-founder of the Canadian Journalists of Colour, a 2021 R. James Travers Foreign Corresponding Fellow, and the 2023–24 Asper Visiting Professor at the University of British Columbia.
